Systems
Renzey’s first KISS count. Suit-aware black twos, no tens in the minus column — KISS II is the one that adds 10s.

The values
Fred Renzey published the KISS family in Blackjack Bluebook II (2003). KISS 1 is the lightest: count black 2s, 4s, 5s, and 6s as +1, and J/Q/K as −1. Tens are 0. KISS 2 adds tens to the minus side.
The count is unbalanced and starts at 0. QFIT’s tables omit KISS 1, so this page follows Renzey plus independent write-ups of that book — not a QFIT-only chart. We do not publish BC/PE/IC here because the numbers that used to ship with a different (incorrect) map are not corroborated for this one.
+1
black 2, 4, 5, 6
The plus ranks. Red twos are 0.
0
A, red 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10
Tens are not counted in KISS 1. Faces are the minus cards.
−1
J, Q, K
Face cards only. Tens stay 0 until KISS II.
Extra tracking
Only the color of the two changes the value. Hearts and diamonds are red; spades and clubs are black. Every other rank is the same in every suit.
| Rank | Black | Red |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | +1 | 0 |
Black is spades and clubs. Red is hearts and diamonds. The app splits these ranks in Memorize.
The math
KISS I is unbalanced. Start at 0 and add values. A full deck does not return to 0. There is no IRC in the app for this map.
Use a key count to raise bets. Do not convert to true count. Watch the color of the deuce.
Efficiency
Older locker numbers (BC 91 / PE 55 / IC 76) belonged to a simplified map that counted tens as −1 and ignored the black-two rule. We dropped them. Blackjack Review lists KISS 1 correlations, but a second independent table does not confirm them, so the page shows —.
BC
—
Not shown. No second independent table agrees on betting correlation for published KISS 1.
PE
—
Not shown. Same bar as BC — we only print a number two sources support.
IC
—
Not shown.
In the app
KISS I is a Pro system. Memorize splits red and black twos. Tens should score 0; faces −1.
Drill the KISS I values until every rank is automatic.
Start at 0 and add every card as it comes off the shoe. A full deck does not return to 0.
No true-count conversion. Raise the bet when the running count crosses the published key count.
