Privacy Policy
Last updated August 27, 2026
This policy describes how Card Counting Coach (“we”, “the app”) handles information when you use the iOS app or this website. The app is a training tool for blackjack card counting. It is not a casino, not a payment processor, and not affiliated with any casino.
This is a product document for Card Counting Coach, not legal advice. If you need a lawyer’s review for your situation, get one.
Who we are
Card Counting Coach is developed by Justin Ackermann. The iOS app requires a signed-in account. This marketing site is static and does not have its own accounts.

Information we collect
We collect information you provide, information created by using the app, and information from Apple, Google, and our infrastructure providers as needed to run the product.
Account and profile
You sign in with Apple, Google, or phone (SMS). We store:
- Your Firebase user ID and sign-in identifiers
- Username (unique; searchable so teammates can invite you)
- Full name
- Birthday (used to confirm you are at least 13)
- Email, when Apple, Google, or you provide one (including Hide My Email addresses)
- Phone number, when you sign in with phone
- Optional profile photo, if you take or pick one
- Pro Mode entitlement and related purchase state (not your card number)
Practice and gameplay
We store progress, settings, logs, and stats for modes such as Memorize, Running Count, True Count, Basic Strategy, Play Blackjack, Swipe & Count, Dealt Out, Beat the Clock, and deviations. Play Blackjack uses a virtual bankroll inside the simulator. That is not real-money gambling.
Casino sessions and teams (Pro)
If you use Pro session tracking or live teams, we may store:
- Session times, status, notes, table rules, and profit/loss you enter
- Starting and ending bankroll, and bankroll history you log
- Casino name, address, Google Place ID, and coordinates when you tag a location
- An optional session PIN if you turn on Secure Mode
- Team name, members, roles, invite codes, and linked live-session bankrolls
Numbers you type into a session log are your records of real-world play. We do not place bets, move casino money, or verify those figures.
Feedback
If you submit in-app feedback, we store the title, description, type, and any screenshots you attach, along with your user ID and username so we can follow up.
Device, diagnostics, and notifications
- Crash and error reports via Firebase Crashlytics
- App analytics events such as launches, sign-in, practice or session activity, team join/leave, and purchases
- Push notification tokens (APNs / FCM) so we can send practice reminders, team invites, and session updates you enable
- Online/offline presence while the app is in use
Location, camera, and photos
Location is optional and used when you search for nearby casinos or tag a session. Camera and photo library access are used for an optional profile photo. You can refuse these permissions; the rest of the app still works.
Purchases
Apple processes in-app purchases through StoreKit (Pro Mode is a one-time unlock; the Play Blackjack bank top-up is a separate one-time product). We store whether your account has Pro access. We do not receive your full payment card number.
This website
The site is static. We do not run an account system here. Your host or browser may log standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, pages requested).
How we use it
- Create and authenticate your account
- Sync practice, settings, sessions, and teams across your devices
- Let teammates see the live bankroll and session details you share with a team
- Restore Pro Mode and other purchases
- Send the push notifications you allow
- Show ads in the free experience
- Fix crashes, measure feature use, and keep the app running
- Respond to support and feedback
- Enforce the Terms & Conditions and protect the service
How we share it
We do not sell your personal information. We share information in these cases:
- With teammates you join. Team members can see your username, display name, photo, and linked session bankroll, P/L, casino, notes, rules, and times.
- For invites. Signed-in users can search by username (and name) to send a team invite.
- Service providers. Apple, Google Firebase, Google Mobile Ads, and Google Maps / Places process data to provide sign-in, storage, push, ads, maps, and crash reporting.
- Legal. If we are required to disclose information to comply with law, a valid request, or to protect people or the app.
Teams and sessions
Teams are invite-only (username or private code), not a public social network. Anything you put on a linked team session is visible to that team. If you leave a team, historical member stats on that team may still show your name and past P/L.
A session PIN is a convenience lock in the app. It is not a guarantee that session data is hidden from everyone with access to our servers or to a team you joined.
Third parties
The app relies on:
- Google Firebase — Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics, Remote Config, and Realtime Database (presence)
- Google Sign-In — if you choose that sign-in method
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — interstitial ads for free users
- Google Maps and Places — casino search and session location
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store / StoreKit, Push Notifications
Those providers process data under their own policies. We do not control Apple’s or Google’s independent use of data they collect as platform operators.
Ads
The free app shows interstitial ads. Pro Mode removes them. Ads are served by Google. We do not currently ask for App Tracking Transparency permission. You can limit ad personalization in iOS Settings. Purchasing Pro Mode is the way to remove ads in the app.
Your choices
- Decline location, camera, photos, or notifications in iOS Settings
- Skip a profile photo
- Stay off teams if you do not want to share session data
- Control ads in iOS Settings, or buy Pro Mode to remove them
- Restore purchases from Edit Profile
- Email contact@cardcountingcoach.com to access or correct account data
An account is required to use the iOS app. There is no guest mode. Practice data syncs to your account.
Retention and deletion
We keep account, practice, session, and team data while your account exists. You can delete your account from Edit Profile → Delete Account in the app, or by emailing us.
Deletion removes your sign-in and profile. Email us if you need help clearing remaining session logs, photos, feedback, or team membership. Some records may remain for a limited time in backups, crash logs, or team history other members still need.
Children
You must be at least 13 to create an account. The App Store age rating is 17+. The app is not directed at children under 13. Do not use it if you are not allowed to under the laws where you live.
Security
We use reputable providers (Apple and Google) and standard transport encryption. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. Do not put secrets you cannot afford to lose into session notes, feedback, or a session PIN.
International transfers
We are based in the United States. Firebase, Google, and Apple may process data in the U.S. and other countries. If you use the app from elsewhere, you understand your information may be transferred to those locations.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing. Email us to make a request. We do not sell personal information. Advertising on the free app may involve sharing device-level data with Google for ads; that is described above.
Changes
We may update this page as the product changes. The date at the top is the latest revision. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes will be reflected here and, when appropriate, in the app or by email.
