The values

How the values work

Wong Halves is from Stanford Wong’s Professional Blackjack. It is a single balanced count that uses half-point values for extra betting correlation. It is not a mix of two systems. Values: 5 is +1.5, 2 and 7 are +0.5, 9 is −0.5, tens and aces are −1, 8 is 0.

The math

Running count, then true count

Start at zero

Balanced. Start at 0. The halves still cancel over a full deck. Some players double every value (the “whole halves” shortcut) and divide the true count by two.

True count is running count divided by remaining decks. Keep the fractions or use the doubled map consistently.

Efficiency

Why the numbers look like that

The fractions exist to push betting correlation. PE stays in Hi-Lo territory.
