The values
Ken Uston published the Advanced Point Count in Million Dollar Blackjack (1981). It is ace-neutral and level three: fives are +3, tens are −3. The primary count does not include aces. Uston’s published use of APC keeps an ace side count for betting.
The app flag for this system is that it requires an ace side count — not that aces are tagged in the running count.

Extra tracking
Aces are 0 in the Advanced Point Count. Uston’s published APC keeps an ace side count for betting. The running count never scores an ace.
Tally aces as they leave the shoe. Remaining aces versus remaining decks tells you when to raise the bet. The primary true count still drives playing deviations.
The math
Balanced. Start at 0. Aces do not move the running count.
True count is running count divided by remaining decks. Keep the ace side count for bet sizing.
Efficiency
Level three shows up as PE and IC. Primary-count BC still assumes you add the ace side count for betting.
BC
91%
Betting correlation of 91% for the primary count.
PE
69%
Playing efficiency of 69%, the highest in the locker.
IC
90%
Insurance correlation of 90%.
