The values

How the values work

The Revere Point Count is from Lawrence Revere (Playing Blackjack as a Business). It is balanced and level two. Aces share the −2 column with tens, which is why betting correlation is so high.

The math

Running count, then true count

Start at zero

Balanced. Start at 0. Aces already live in the running count at −2.

True count is running count divided by remaining decks.

Efficiency

Why the numbers look like that

RPC is a betting count. PE looks like Hi-Lo; BC is as high as anything in the locker.

In the app

Practice RPC on iPhone

RPC is a Pro system. Practice uses the same +2/−2 layout as Hi-Opt II.

  • Memorize

Drill the RPC values until every rank is automatic.

  • Running Count

Add every card as it comes off the shoe. Start at 0. A full deck returns to 0.

  • True Count

Divide the running count by remaining decks. Betting and deviations use this number.
